Prerequisites

• Age 16 or older
Topics covered include equipment, relaxation, breathing, swim technique, streamlining, duck dives, buoyancy, and turns. Core basic safety skills and knowledge. This is the basic certification that is accepted for freediving and spearfishing events around the world.
This course further develops skills taught in the AIDA 2 course. Advanced safety skills, training knowledge, physiology, and management of risks and hazards arising from depth are included in the curriculum. The course spends a lot of time perfecting the diver's swimming form, minimizing drag, maximizing thrust and relaxation. The diver will swim further, deeper, with less oxygen consumption after the course. This is the certification level recommended by DC Freediving Academy for spearfishing for safe and effective hunting.
